Lasersmith Fabrication, our Fort Collins metal fabrication shop, began as a side project out of necessity. Ray and Kathy Smith needed some custom metal shelves to display product in their pond supply and firewood shop in Fort Collins, Colorado. So Ray, who has an interest in metalworking and a background in machining, bought a CNC plasma table to make his own.
After he built the shelves, customers of the pond shop began to inquire about his metal work and requesting custom pieces. It wasn’t too long before the metal fabrication business began to overtake the pond and firewood business. Ray found himself adding more equipment and employees to meet the demand for custom metalwork. Business came from individual customers, local businesses looking for metal signs and other custom metalwork, and from other local metal shops and online retailers that didn’t have the ability or capacity to fulfill their orders.
Today, Lasersmith Fabrication offers precision metal fabrication, restoration, and repair, specializing in laser cutting and general metal fabrication.
